YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
|
 |
| |
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. ... All the believers were together and had everything in common. ... And the Lord added to their number daily, those who were being saved." Acts 2:42, 44, 47
The goals of the young adult ministry at Fellowship are:
1. DISCIPLESHIP: Teaching, training and assisting young adults in their personal spiritual growth, Christian service and future leadership;
2. FELLOWSHIP: Fostering and building strong growing relationships within our young adult church family; and
3. MINISTRY: Ministering to each others needs as well as ministering outside the young adult group to help meet the needs of others.
The young adult ministry provides several exciting and purposeful activities designed to accomplish these goals in each of our lives:
BIBLE
STUDY
The Young Adult Department offers several classes each quarter tailored
to the specific needs and interests within our department. We are committed to
providing a small group study atmosphere to create a less intimidating environment
and encourage open discussions. Each week we generally begin with a department-wide
meeting for announcements, prayer and a fellowship activity. We then break into
smaller groups for our various classes.
FELLOWSHIPS
We have breakfasts at church each quarter where we eat, fellowship, study and minister together. We also have another fun "off-site" gathering each quarter for activities like cook-outs, video scavenger hunts, game nights, etc.
MINISTRIES
Within our group we regularly host wedding and baby showers, provide meals for new parents or to those who are sick and we pray for each others needs weekly. We also try to adopt a ministry outside our young adult group several times a year to touch the lives of others.
