Small groups involve church members and guests that meet outside the church for the purpose of Christian fellowship consisting of evangelism, spiritual growth, and community. The goal is to multiply the groups so that more can participate in this Christian fellowship within Fellowship Church.
The group follows a pattern called “Shared Ministry.” This includes members:
- Providing a ‘host home’
- Leading the children’s ministry
- Leading the group meeting and discussion
- Sharing during the meeting
- Participating in worship and prayer
- Rotating providing refreshments
The goal is to have all attendees participate in the meeting,
The group follows an agenda to facilitate group ministry consisting of the ‘4 Ws’:
WELCOME
WORSHIP
WORD
WITNESS
WORSHIP is a time for focusing on our relationship with the Lord through praise and song. Worship involves all who attend including the children. After the worship time the children will be released to their own program until the wrap-up time.
WORD is a time for the group to focus inward and discover what the Lord is saying to us through His Word,
WITNESS / MINISTRY TIME is a time to focus outward on our ministry to the world. Time is spent on prayerful reflection concerning the fruit of your life:
- Does the fruit of your life reflect the Word of God?
- Are you pleased with the fruit of your life?
- What are some fruits that you would like to grow in your life?
- Take some time to ask God to help your life grow His fruit.
WRAP-UP is the time to welcome the children back into the group and let them share something about what they’ve learned. Wrap-up includes a time of prayer with the whole group before fellowshipping together.
Fellowship and Refreshments is the time to fellowship with each other while enjoying some refreshments and replenishing our batteries, as we head back to our daily activities.
